Why Is Breakfast the Most Important Meal of the Day?
Answer:
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is one of the most common clichés when it comes to food. But it’s not
just a cliché, it's fact. After a long night’s sleep, your body has gone without food for a good couple of hours. So
many times, we're in such a morning rush that we often wake up, have a quick cup of coffee and then we rush off to work,
forgetting breakfast.
But why is breakfast important?
Well, your blood sugar levels keep you feeling energized and allow you to concentrate. Skipping breakfast means that
your blood sugar levels are dropping further for longer. When you break your evening fast with a morning meal, your brain
is able to concentrate again and your energy levels are upped, allowing you to have a more positive and focused day.
A healthy breakfast is not one that contains deep fried bacon and eggs or greasy croissants and pastries. A good
breakfast should contain a good source of lean protein and some carbs in the form of fiber. How about a hard-boiled
egg and a bowl of oats with some fruit or perhaps a glass of orange juice instead of the fruit? That would be the
perfect morning, kick start meal.
