What Is Hypothyroidism?
Answer:
Hypothyroidism is the condition in which the thyroid is underactive and not producing a sufficient amount of thyroid hormones.
Symptoms are subtle and may be mistaken for symptoms of depression. They include a hoarse voice, weight gain, carpal tunnel syndrome (hand tingling or pain), muscle cramps and orange-colored soles and palms.
Untreated hypothyroidism may lead to anemia, depression, low body temperature, difficulty to lose weight and heart failure.
